MacCord Mason,
a North Carolina law firm with offices in Greensboro and Wilmington,
assists business clients in developing and implementing competitive
strategies that include the acquisition and enforcement of commercially
valuable intellectual properties, and the avoidance of valid third-party
intellectual property rights. In fulfilling this mission, the
firm engages in the following activities:
- Client counseling
regarding intellectual property matters grounded on an in-depth
understanding of the client's business.
- Acquisition
and maintenance of intellectual property rights in the United
States and foreign countries.
- Licensing
and transfer of intellectual property rights, and structuring
of ventures with third parties involving intellectual property.
- Litigation
to enforce the client's intellectual property rights, and to
defend against infringement claims by third parties.
The firm intentionally
limits its practice to intellectual property matters, believing
that the interests of the client are best served when the client
is able to select other counsel for its other business-related
legal needs. The firm also frequently works closely with the client's
other legal counsel when expertise in intellectual property law
is required.
